In the Tijuca Forest in Rio de Janeiro, people often leave their dogs and Karollyne hosts many of them. In Heloisa Passos’ film, Karollyne lives with 12 dogs in an abandoned mansion occupied by other formerly homeless people.

Together, they care for 19 dogs and 4 cats. All of those animals were found on the street, typically abandoned in the forest.
