Untitled Animal Project explores supply chains with an animal lens. Through locations around the world, the film weaves together ways consumer industries affect various species – with a focus on the elusive idea of animal sentience.
About The Team
Jessica Kingdon is a Chinese-American director/producer named one of “25 New Faces of Independent Film” by Filmmaker Magazine and selected for the 2020 DOC NYC “40 Under 40” list. Her documentary ASCENSION登楼叹 (2021), was nominated for an Oscar at the 94th Academy Awards. She is currently directing UNTITLED ANIMAL PROJECT supported by Sandbox Films and Impact Partners, produced with Protozoa Pictures. Her work has been supported by organizations including SFFILM, Chicken & Egg, Cinereach, Sundance, and Firelight Media. She is working with Real Lava to produce the Redford Center supported UNTITLED PANDA FILM (dir. Devon Blackwell).
Jamie Gonçalves is a producer whose work includes David Osit’s PREDATORS (Sundance 2025, Paramount), Nathan Silver’s CAROL & JOY (Telluride & NYFF 2025), Juan Pablo González’s Gotham and Cinema Eye nominated DOS ESTACIONES (Sundance 2022 Special Jury Award, Criterion), CABALLERANGO (IDFA 2018, Grasshopper) and LAS NUBES (IFFR 2017). Jamie produced Nathan Truesdell’s shorts BALLOONFEST (preserved at the National Library of Congress) and THE WATER SLIDE—the most watched films on The Atlantic; and Nick Berardini’s KILLING THEM SAFELY (Tribeca 2015, IFC). He has been a Sundance Institute Producing Fellow, Dear Producer Fellow, Impact Partners Producing Fellow, Creative Capital Fellow and a Sundance Producing Lab advisor. In 2015, he was named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s “25 New Faces of Film” and had been in the programming department at the True/False Film Fest from 2011-2015.
Nathan Truesdell is a multi-hyphenate filmmaker whose directorial work includes the award-winning shorts BALLOONFEST, THE WATER SLIDE, THE ART OF MAKING MONEY, IT’S COMING!, WHEN THE LAPD BLOWS UP YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, MYSTERY SEEDS, and A DERAILMENT. He was the Camera Department Head and a Cinematographer for the HBO series HOW TO WITH JOHN WILSON and produced and co-DP’ed Jessica Kingdon’s ASCENSION登楼叹 (2021). He is currently in production on his debut feature documentary WATCH THE CIRCUS BURN. Nathan has been nominated for an Academy Award, a PGA Award, an IDA Award, was selected for the inaugural “DOC NYC 40 Under 40” list, has worked on 6 Vimeo Staff Picked films, and won a Cinema Eye Honor for Cinematography.
